Newbie! Les Paul Book

Greetings from Fredericksburg, Virginia, about an hour south of the Nation's Capitol. I have been playing guitar since I was 19 years old, which was 1949, so that would be 60 years at least. I am now 79, and my birthday was yesterday, Oct. 30. I was a long-time friend of my late buddy Les Paul. Met him in 1961, which would make our friendship about half his life on earth. I have written a massive memoir about him which is on the verge of publishing.

But Les was not the champion that everyone is saying he was. Oh, he was friendly, and signed a ton of autographs, but he had a cruel side which no one seems to want to talk about. I have a list of some 160 or so things that Les claimed to have said, done, invented, designed, written, recorded, etc., which never happened.

I began by wanting to write a love story to tell the world how much I respected and loved this man. But I discovered so much more that I did not love. If anyone wishes to read this book, I would be pleased to put them on my list of early receivers.

Cordially,
Jim Evans

Jim,

I am not sure why anyone would want to speak ill of Les at this point, except to earn a buck. We all have dark flaws in us. I find this sort of thing tastless and have no interest in your book. You might want to consider the meaning of the word friend.
