Seems you haven't read all the posts. I believe I have said that this is the best new model they have come out with in years. As far as strings go, do you like round or flats?

That reminds me. Recently I had to explain to my wife how strings can be "round" or "flat". Or "half-round" for that matter. She also thought an acoustic guitar amplifier was a contradiction in terms.

Guitar Es-359

HI DEREK !
IN FACT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT KIND OF STRINGS YOU WOULD USE IN THIS TYPE OF SEMI-HOLLOW BODY GUITAR AND THE GOOD AND BAD STUFF OF USING ROUND OR FLAT STRINGS .
REGARDING MR BIG DADDY LOVE'S HIS HAND (OR WHATEVER) I TOUGHT THAT THIS FORUM WAS MADE FOR ALL GUITAR PLAYER LEVELS, FOR A BEGINNER IS REALLY FRUSTRATED TO READ THAT SHARP SARCASM JUST TO ASK FOR HELP.

It's called "humor". And do you need to know how to unlock your "CAPS LOCK"?

I would probably put round wound .11's on it. Good luck Dante.

P.S.

Online forums like this are supposed to be filled with humor. No one was being sharp with you.

certainly not being sharp.

and if that came off as flat, it's purely accidental.

okay, i'll stop.

as for strings, what are you used to? jumping up several gauges at a time is never a good idea--rough for you, and more setup needed for the guitar.

as for flats or round, i love flats for jazz--less squeak, dark mellow sound, and less upper harmonics which can make some complex jazz chords sound a little nasty.

I prefer round-wound 11's on most thinline semi-hollows. Some brands are smoother than others. I like D'Aquisto's - they're relatively smooth for roundwounds. And by the way, I recently played a used CS-336 that was very nice.

Mr. B: "Try to B sharp, never B flat, but always B natural!"
