Newbie! Hello first time and a question

I've always wanted to learn how to create a jazz piece and looked for courses and helpful material. Chords, scales, licks and so on.. but I've never found a guide to buid a secuence among several chords in a tone. Is there something like this or I'm dreaming and must to get into the elements of jazz and late much later IŽll understand how to do it?
Regards everybody.

First, welcome to the group. If I understand you correctly, you are wanting to write a jazz tune. Is this correct? If so, jazz until the 60's was primarily made from ii V I progressions that modulated in whole tones, 4ths, etc.

Probably the best way to sort this out is to pick a few tunes you like and analyze how they are put together.

Default books... which?

Hey, I'm posting for the first time and I hope this doesn't annoy anyone, but on Amazon they list three books, a "#1" and a "#2" and then a third called "Jazz Guitar Micky Baker (Guitar Books) (Paperback)"... do I want all three, just the first two or just the third? Meaning, is the last one a compilation of the first two? Winter's coming. This is when I study.

Cool that you guys have this site.

Mike Carr, Loudoun County Virginia. Pleased to make your acquaintance.
