Newbie! One more old new guy.

40 years or so ago I played a single at bars and restaraunts then I got married, had kids, etc. With the kids out of college and my wife moved on, I started tinkering again with music a while back, got a few acoustics along the way some electrics, looking for a good fit. This weekend I picked up a used entry level jazz box that made me just put down all the rest. It's 1995 Epison Emperor Regent with a Kent Armstrong HJGN-2GD floating pickup. The original owner replaced the Frequensator taipiece with a Citation style. I'll be replacing the Frequensator to see if the bad rep is deserved. They were the original style and I like the look.
The sound is great. I have a Roland Acoustic Chorus 100 for my electrified Martin and this Epi sounds great through it. I haven't put the thing down all weekend except to answer the call.

This is a pic of my gradfather sitting on the porch of his store in Kentucky circa 1939. I'm sure he'd rather I played Bluegrass, but they have common roots.

So I'm new to the jazz scene and it'll take years for me to be comfortable jamming even in a private setting, but I do think it's got me good.

Thanks for the welcoms. I've had the Gortt55 moniker for eight years so...I'm thinking 1946 was also a great year for the planet! ;-)

Now that I've got some gear and WHILE I have the motivation I need to start a lesson plan.
