Next month i'm starting conservatorium here in Belgium specialisation "master" jazz-guitar(5years).
Maybe this question is asked allready;

dunlop jazz 1,2,3?
dunlop tortex sharp or round tip?

Info is welcome.

Welcome Kurt,
The choice of pick depends a lot on your style--how you use your hands. I use a variety of picks and often no pick at all, because it depends on how I want to approach the song.

Welcome to the group. I tend to use only small, pointy picks. Currently using the Dava Jazz Grips.

Picks are a fairly personal decision, but one that really can affect your tone.

Default hello to belgium

when i pay for picks usually the thickness of the plastic/how much i can bend the pick when you play any note determines which ones i get/as to the shape of the pick melodic playing would be more pointed/chording would be more wider.

Newbie! pick style

Hello Macuser...welcome to this forum

I'm wondering if anyone here has heard of the original "Nick Lucas" pick?
I use a medium thickness...medium point and medium width at the top...
great for soloing or rhythm. A lot of companies have adopted that style
(for example Fender and Gibson) WORKS FOR ME!!!
Also, it's usualy tortoise shell.
