Hi All
My name is Tim. I have been playing guitar for 35 years. I played professionaly and made a decent living out of school, for 15 years(born and raised in Detroit). I put the guitar down to raise 6 kids and build a business.
I have always played mostly rock and top 40. After picking the guitar up again, from my hiatus, I just wasn't getting that rush from music that I had before. I was introduced to jazz by a friend and have been going 110% for about a year now. Great to find that old flame again. Just needed the right kindling.
I have been self teaching myself and woodsheding every night for about 4 hours a night. Have made my way through some jazz masterclass programs and have built a fairly decent jazz collection. Just can't get enough of this stuff.
I am currenty working on improvisation and transcribing. Just not enough time in a 24 hour day. My business takes up some time and the darn kids expect to eat everyday (what are they thinking).
I ran into this forum while I was working on Melodic (Jazz) Minor scales and applications. I was amazed at the amount of information that I (stealthily) received. I pulled up about 2 pages of information and then read through all of the threads. I ended up copy and pasting what I wanted and created enough information to keep me busy for a long time to come.
Anyway, I'm rambling........ Glad to find the site. Not sure if I will contribute very much. But, guaranteed to ask a boat load of questions.
Tim
