Default Greetings from Pittsburgh

Hello all,

Looks like a great community here - I am eager to get plugged in. I've been playing blues guitar for about 20 years and have just recently had the opportunity to join a jazz project. I've been a huge jazz fan all my life, so I'm pretty excited.

That said, In exploring this site, I've quickly come to realize how little I know about the fretboard and music in general (you mean the pentatonic minor can't be played over every progression?? ) and how talented jazz guitarists are. I have a long way to go.

For the past three weeks I've memorizing the notes of the major scales, constructing chords, digging into modes and getting my dom7, min7, and maj7 arps dialed in.

Right now, I'm kind of digging the gypsy jazz style and will be researching acoustic guitars (any recommendations on good starters?)

My brother shared this with me...LIKE:

Anyway, sorry about the rambling introduction. I look forward to learning from everyone here!
