| | Introduction Hello Everyone;
I have been playing for a few years and really like this forum. The postings so helpful I decided to join to participate more. In addition to having an intermediate understanding of the theory I setup my own guitars and work on my own amplifiers.
I look forward to jumping on the forums, time permitting. |

| | Brwnhornet59: Likewise, thank you for the welcome. I also was into music for several years, but stopped after loosing interest in playing brass instruments. After many years, I found an interest in learning jazz guitar. Time permitting, I can practice guitar for hours at a time. I look forward to chatting on this forum.

| | Well, if you want to learn about jazz guitar, you are in the right place!
Where are you at with your studies? Do you know drop 2 and 3 chord voicings? How about your understanding of chord scale theory? Are you familiar with harmonic minor and melodic minor and their modes? Are you comfortable building chords and their upper extension and related modes etc..? |

| | Chord scale theory as well building seventh chords is fine. Harmonic and melodic minor scales are also good. I have to look into minor modes, drop 2 and drop and upper extension chords and their modes. By upper extension, do you mean 9th, 11th and 13th chords? |
