Pat Metheny Hi all!!!

Well hello, my name is Pat from Argentina. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.

Well, as this is my first thread, I wanted to know if anyone has tried the Ted Greene book on Single Note Soloing. I seems to be pretty interesting but I would like to know your opinions, if it was helpful, etc. And finally, what about the How to Play Bebop Volumes 1 to 3 by David N. Baker?

Hope to hear your opinions!!!

Happy 2012!!!

Hello there!

I'm new here too, and won't be able to help you with your book-questions, although I'm curious for the answers as well! I do have the book called Chord Chemistry, it's insanely advanced theory and should be used with caution! Thanks, and a happy new year to you as well! May you become as good as Pat Martino ( I don't really like Metheny (yet) )!

Well, good too hear from you my friend! Is Chord Chemistry a good book, I mean, I `ve seen it, read commentaries about it, and it seems so overwelhming so much information! Have you used it?

I have taken ideas from it, and some chord forms. I haven't used it that much yet, because I felt like I should build up my more basic theory and technique a bit more, and I think that the way it's supposed to be used is to read something, take some ideas from it, and implement that in your playing, one step at a time.
