Hello everybody!
Let me start with introducing myself:
I'm Jesse from the Netherlands (I'm sure there are more Jesse's though!) and I'm 18 years old and have been playing for about seven years now.
I figured it was finally time to sign up on this forum, because it seemed that any theory or jazzy guitar related question i googled, I found answerd here.
Mostly I have always been focusing on the blues since that was my first love, and I still love and play it, you can take a look on my youtube channel to see what I mean

And then, I discoverd Robben Ford.
His sound was so fresh and his phrasing so hip that I was just drawn to it, it was different from what I was used to, but yet sounded so familiar.
He was really the one that got me interested in jaz(zy) playing at the time. I had heard players like Wes Montgomery and John Coltrane before but I didn't really took to it, I think that was because it was so different from what I was used to hearing, Ford was a nice crossover between jazz and blues. I'm happy to say that I got to see Robben live this year and was amazed!
Since then I was already trying to get better at following chords around, but never got serious about it. Until last week
I'm now steadily practising a couple of hours a day, playing around with band in a box, practising mode/scale/arpeggio patterns, and trying to improve my theory knowledge.
In order to help me do so, I have aquired a book called "Jazz Guitar - Complete Edition. By Jody Fisher". It as already helped me loads and probably will so still in the following months if not years!
Also I got the book : Ted Greene : Chord Chemistry, because I've watched all his videos on youtube probably a thousand times and I enjoy playing chord melody ALOT!
At the moment I am working with a tune you might know, Autumn Leaves .
I'm working on being able to play it trough with straight 8ths arpeggios, to familiarize myself with arpeggio use, it's sound, and to gain some fretboard fluidity. The first 8 (16) Bars are done, and I will post those as an attachement. If anyone has any comments on it, please let me know! I'm eager to learn!

The style of Kurt Rosenwinkel is really something that I would love to understand, and to play myself as well, with of course, my own ideas thrown in here and there. If you do not, or even if you do, know Kurt, watch this and be amazed:

If theres anything you guys think that I MUST listen to or must practise right now, please let me know as well.
This was my hectic introduction post,
Jesse.
P.S.
The chord shapes show are not the ones I use when playing the song. Guitar Pro exported it this way to PDF!
