Default Hello from a Tiger (LSU)

Looking forward to listening and learning. I've played guitar for about 50 years... and am just now exploring the awesome world of Jazz. I recently went to a very small venue to see John Pizzarelli and was blown away.

First objective, learn to improve jazz guitar
Second objective, learn to play a seven string!!!! Totally awesome, love that sound.

I went through a long stretch of blue grass..then finger-picken delta blues... and I suppose originally I just wanted to be a rock star and had a little rock band... very long time ago.

Just getting back into it and I just want to expand.

BTW Dirk... i want this one
  1. The Jazz Theory Book: over 500 pages of inspiration and practical
advice. This is the Bible of jazz theory and explains everything you
    need to know step-by-step.

Looking forward to being with you guys... stay cool, PG

Welcome to the forum LSU. You've really taken a life time voyage round the world of music. The sea was friendly I guess. Welcome to the world of jazz.

Roll Tide! (semi-kidding)

Pizzarelli was a gateway for me too, there are so many other great players to discover, it will take another 50 years to listen to all of them. Welcome from Alabama.
