Default please report offensive posts

I finally got a post reported to me today from the "gibson gets raided" debacle.

I don't read every post on this board...after receiving this report I read the thread and saw that some were lamenting that I had not yet shut it down.

Sorry folks! That topic doesn't interest me, and since I had received no complaints until today, I figured it was rolling along okay...guess I was wrong!

Anyway, please don't assume I know everything going on in every thread...if you see something out of line, please take a few seconds, click the little red triangle, and let me know what's up.

Man that shit was turning ugly.

We'relways at our best when we remember what we have in common rather than we don't.

kind of like "see something, say something", i guess?

btw - how are those gulf coast trees and global warming thwarting grassy boulevards working out in Chicago? a Chicago friend informed me that Chicago city leaders were spending tax payer dollars on those items as a result of their forecast of a New Orleans type climate in Chicago by 2025. bummer. traffic on Michigan avenue's gonna be a bitch during spring break.

here's one. that Brad Mehldau commentary was offenseive to me (please find the link on the "Better than Django" thread). He blathered on about George Bush's idealogy in the context of comparing jazz musicians. he never backed up his side swipe with anythig credible of course, but just couldn't help working in some Bush-bashing while talking about jazz and hanging out with his immature friends.

Bush was a lot of things, but idealogue was not one of them. So, we need to maintain our ban on pencil necked artists spouting out their ruminations on domestic and foreign policy. i found it offensive and unpatriotic, so please delete it. thank you kindly.

happy thanksgiving Mr B!

Use the little triangle icon to report posts...derek and I can't go fishing through every thread to find what post might be suspected.

When you report using that icon, we get an email with a link directly to the offending post.

Oh, and ff, I just reported your post. Hopefully that longhaired hippie moderator with the Hofner will get off his ass and do something about it

Happy Thanksgiving.

I think censorship is only necessary if we're getting off topic and it's ugly, or there are personal insults. The Brad link didn't lead to a longer thread - I don't think it should be removed just because it had political content. It was a great article. If it had led to a flame war or something, then I could understand removing it.

Jake, I hope it was clear I was kidding around a bit.

But again, to report a post, click on it, and we'll look at it. Likely, unless it's a shot in a battle or one obviously intended to cause a fight, it's not going anywhere. I'm a member on an "over moderated" board. It's boring there.

Oh totally, I knew you weren't planning on removing it. I didn't mean to quote your post in mine, I was responding to FF.

uh-huh, i understand.

lets watch and see if anti conservative barbs are treated the same by you as aniti-liberal barbs. to be fair, i think that there is already a trend, but Thanksgiving Day makes for an easy baseline point to remember.

so, as i undrstand you, fair and balanced from here then! great! thanks.
