I say "sort of" because I've been lurking on this forum for quite a while now; I finally decided it was time to start posting. Definitely one of the best guitar resources on the net, especially in terms of exchange and instruction on playing actual music (versus just talking gear).

I've been playing guitar for about 12 years now, mostly in the blues/rock/country vein. I got into jazz about six years ago, but have only begun to pursue it more seriously as a player in the past year.

Some of my favorite jazz guitarists include Jim Hall, Ed Bickert, Kenny Burrell, Grant Green, and Frank Vignola. On the non-jazz side, I'm partial to players like Jim Campilongo, Tony Rice, Mark Knopfler, and Robert Cray.

My main instruments these days are a Fender American Special Tele, a MIM Strat, and a Martin D28. I'm working on acquiring a "proper" jazz box some time in the not-too-distant future.

Welcome! I was also a long-time lurker who's just emerged. I wonder how many of us there are... Hopefully we can contribute something to this excellent resource.
