Newbie! Im New Here

Hey you all. I am a newbie but thought I would stop by and say hello. I just got a Ibanez AF75 and so far I really like it. Takes a bit to get use to cause I normally like Tele's. Anyway I do have a few questions for you veterans.

My AG75 I get some vibrations from the floating bridge and its very annoying. If I move it (bridge) a little it goes away but comes back a few days later. Any suggestion to get rid of this? Only does it on a few strings..

Also strap button is on bottom.. Would a thiner strap be better? I got a nice 2inch leather and it feels kinda awkward on this.

Pickups.. Any suggestion on changing the pups cause I hear they are kinda weak on these. I like the tone but would like a little volume in-case I play at church..

Feedback.. man does this baby feedback. I hear putting a few t-shirts in the f-holes will help but how much will that change the sound?

Thanks Guys and hope to hear from you all soon!

Well, if you move the bridge, you're changing your intonation. Better to get that in a good place and stay with it. (There are times it might need to be moved if you change string gauge, for example)

The vibrations are likely the strings behind the bridge. Very common on archies. If you really hate it, wrap a little felt around the strings behind the bridge.

You might want to adjust those pickups by moving them closer to the strings or adjusting the polepieces before you write them off.

As for the strap, sorry, no advice, I sit when I play.

Thanks Jeff,, Well yes I was aware of that intonation problem. When I mean moved I mean like barely moved it and that seemed to solve the problem... temporarily anyway... I didn't think about the strings behind the bridge. I figured the floating wood part cause the vibration went away when I press down on it. Almost like the contact is not on the body is not tight enough..

I will try to give a solid review in a week or so as I get more use to it and get a fair feel for the value and performance.. I know AG75 is in the cheaper end of the spectrum but the guitar looked so good I figured it was worth the wood alone and I could change everything out if it was really bad..

Mark

Welcome to the forum. They are a nice axe. I almost bought one a couple of years back but ended up getting the AG95 - next Ibz up the food chain.

You know the pups aren't bad at all. I think I will keep them. I cannot figure out where the vibration comes from around the bridge or string bracket? They got one at GC to replace the one I got and it does the same thing.. LOL. So anyway I will give a solid review of this instrument soon and it will be mostly positive. : )

Hi, I had the same problem with my Af75 and it was pickup rattling against the top little pickup adjustment and it's fine now.
