Default Brazilian Jazz guitarist

Hello everyone,

I'm a 31 years old guitar player from Brazil.

I used to be a classical guitar player, and recently switched to the love of my music life: my black les paul (the one in my avatar).

I like rock and roll, blues and jazz, and I mostly play classical music (acoustic) and rock (electric), but I'm most definitely interested in becoming a 100% jazz guitarist.

Nice to join in!

My guitar teacher is a huge brazilian fan, for any fan of brazilian/jazz check out marco pereira, raphael rabello, baden powell etc. and of course the composer jobim is the greatest.

Indeed, the acoustic guitar is almost like our national instrument...

Most of our popular music, like Choro, Bossa Nova, Samba, and so on is based on the guitar. Tom Jobim was not only a very talented pianist, but also a skilled guitar player... Even Heitor Villa-Lobos, although a serious cellist, played and loved the acoustic guitar and its existing music.

As for the music itself, I think samba is the rythm that was best mixed with jazz, giving birth to Bossa Nova, my personal favourite Brazilian music.

My apologies if my English is a bit rusty

Cheers, mates!
