Technique New Jazz Player from NY

Hi All
Excellent forum. Really happy to be here.
Just getting into jazz guitar and the discipline itself after three decades of playing everything from blues, bluegrass, reggae, and country.
I own a Martin D28, a Fender Nocaster, a Gene Parsons Custom Tele Bender, and a Northfield F style mandolin. Now it is a nice jazz box! I'll be asking some questions to educate myself and get your opinions on the best guitar for me.
Thanks.
Chris

Hi Teleman and welcome. Stick with the Tele. Jazz is in your playing, not your gear.

welcome teleman..

ibanez has some really good ones at a fair price....aria....hofner.....play as many as you can to really get the feel of the guitar in your hands....not just because someone plays it...it may not feel right to you in your hands...

I had a Gibson es-165 a couple of years ago that I thought was just the one...no...the neck felt awful...the sound was there....the quality on the workmanship was not there...to get the pickguard installed you had to send it to gibson for custom fitting...yea right...I spent 2300 bucks for the guitar and sold it two months later...

Ibanez man....I have been playing a 1977 2355 (ES-175) since 1978...if you can find one do check it out....

time on the instrument...pierre..
