I'm looking for a guitar pedal that will get me clean, undistorted sustain to play lines with less picking and more hammer ons and pulloffs. I love the tone of Alan Holdsworth and Bill Connors.
Now I'm aware they may have may be using all kinds of expensive effects in a chain giving them that "SOUND" or they may be using rack mounted gear. But isn't there a pedal for $200 - $300 or so that gets at least "close" to that sound?
I've tried several compressors and been a bit unhappy, but I'm still looking. I'd really appreciate it.

David

P.S. Thank you for Dirk, for a GREAT service with jazzguitar.be.

Don't know but I can tell you when Bill Connors started with Chick Corea, he was playing a Les Paul through a 200W Marshall. He probably didn't need a booster then.

I guess you mean the tone of the 80s stuff like "Step It" and "Assembler." He doesn't seem to have a website and I think he built his own amp.
