Reports of dead birds and fish still coming in from around the world First, it was 5,000 birds falling from the sky in Beebe, Arkansas. That was on New Years Eve. It is real.

Now, if you want my opinion, we had one freaky instance (the birds falling from the sky) and then the news media jumped on any and every animal death story they could find--200 dead cows would not have been newsworthy before it rained dead blackbirds in arkansas.

I don't think there's any question man has affected the environment to a point where we are most definitely harming living things. But dead cows from a respiratory virus? Media cash-in.

Yeah, stuff like this happens all the time, sometimes even from natural causes. We had a few together and suddenly the go on a frenzied hunt to find any story even remotely similar. Combine that with changing weather patterns and migratory animals might get confused. It's not a good thing, but I don't think we have to worry yet - we have bigger things to worry about.
