| | Hello from Croatia! Hello everybody!
My name is Vladimir and I'm from Zagreb.
I've been playing guitar for quite a long time, but with many multi-year sabbaticals. I'm trained in classical guitar, then played heavy-metal through the better part of my youth, (meaning I lost of most of my music reading skills).
I'm trying to learn jazz now, whenever I have time, which is unfortunaley rare.
Gearwise, I have an Ibanez PM35, a Squier CV Custom Tele and a Roland cube 80X. Also got a bunch of books and dvd's from which I'm trying to learn.
Musicwise, I am a big fan of both modern players like Metheny (obviously) and Stern, and the more straight ahead players like Dave Stryker and Greg Skaff.
Oddly enough, I got turned on to jazz several years ago when I discovered Danny Gatton who can't strictly be called a jazz player, but nevertheless, one of the best guitarists of all time.
I'm looking forward to interacting with you on this board and learning new stuff.
Cheers! |

| | Welcome Vladimir,
You've picked out some excellent players to emulate and you've got the gear. Now you've added the community which will provide most of what you need to learn jazz guitar.
Best to you. |

| | Thank you for the kind welcome.
I am aware though, how much distance there is from enjoying ones music to emulating but if we get there 1% of the way, it'll be good.
Regards
Vladimir |
