| | Another newbie, in NJ Hello all.
Figured it was time to join. A longtime jazz lover here, not that I can play any of it. Maybe someday. Tried my buddy's old Ibanez jazz guitar, realized I'd really like to have those sounds. So on the hunt for a good hollowbody type. In the meantime, I'll hang out here and soak up the jazz atmosphere. Thanks in advance for that.

Michael D. | Welcome
Have you checked out that guitar store on Valley road by Nona's restaurant? I heard they may have some used archtop's there. I'm sure you already checked out Bach to Rock. Not much there if I recall. Rutherford Music Exchange may still have some archie's around. If not then there's Lark Street in Teaneck, Golden Age in Westfield and Guitars N Jazz in Summit. |

| | Thank you Royal and John. Man, do I ever know my way around northern NJ guitar stores! Longtime customer of Buzzy at Lark Street, John at Golden Age. On the jazz side, thinking it's time for another run out to that place in Summit with all the Peerless guitars. I already have one (Wizard), which continues to impress.
I'd also be interested in trying various Heritage hollowbodies, old Ibanez too, but these are not that common.

| | welcome here mad dog...
The Ibanez ES-175 look alikes are great for the money...
Of course I would say that...I have a 1977 2355 Ibanez archtop...through a Polytone Mini Brute amp...14ga flatwound strings...low action....with my years of playing makes a great sound...
time on the instrument...pierre |

The old Ibanez models are so fine. Tried hard to trade for a friend's AF200 hollowbody electric. He (wisely I thought) said no go. In fact, I'm selling an old Ibanez - the 2618 solidbody - to fund a jazz guitar.
Thanks for your comments.
