Default Moving to Los Angeles

I'm moving to L.A. in a few weeks and have been poking around a bit to try and find a job, but now it's getting pretty close. I know there's a decent number of you that live in or near L.A. and was wondering what music stores you'd like to see a new face at. I also recall that a few of you work at music stores out there, so if any of you see this, are you hiring? If so, let me know where to send a resume.

I don't work in a music store just deal with a few buying gear for where I work. L.A. is no different than any town you have the big stores that staffs are a revolving door. Then a local store that the staffs don't change much. Then the tight economy, you know the story. Good luck.

Leaving the midwest for Lala land? Whatever for? I lived in LA for the better part of a year. Beautiful, but I missed the seasons. Good luck with the move and all that entails.

Thanks for the heads up, docbop. And Derek, I've been spinning my wheels for a while over here in St. Louis, and have finally decided to go for it and try to make something of myself.

I think if you can get into the West Los Angeles store, you might make a decent living. I is on Santa Monica Blvd. I bought my les paul there years ago and the staff was friendly. It may be called WLA music. but I really forgot. Also guitar center I think in Hollywood would be a good/steady job. The best thing is to buy a motorcycle and comute back and forth to work. I lived in LA for about 15 years. Lived in Pacific Palisades and Santa Monica, but I didn't work for a music store. good luck
