Interesting hi and why!

hi!
pleasure to attach myself to this community, i'm on/and off guitar player (actually civil engineer) and mostly play jazzy bluesy music however sometimes hang with satriani stuff...anyway my set up is simple tele with superchamp, zendrive & a compressor...

why?
this part is why becuase i'msure i'll get some answers...when i max the volume of the guitar (the amp volume @ 3) i get some strong hum from the amp akind of itchy sound...when i turn my back to the amp this hum becomes acceptable...i had also grounding problem and i made copper shielding (all cavities/pickguard) now its ok...last time i noticed when i take the neck pup out of the cavity the noise goes away... ciao!

Welcome aboard!

Sounds like you are dealing with the 60-cycle hum, fairly standard on a single-coil pickup guitar like a tele.

thanks for quick reply stackabones! i've checked the link but i'm a lit bit confused with the info...is there any practical way to cut this out or i need to accept this? by the way one thing sparkled in my mind! the amp uses 120v (90w) and here we use 220V so i use 300w transformer adapter (110>220) could be a reason?
thanks

Welcome to the group. You might want to post your question in the gear/gizmo section to get more responses.

Single coil pickups hum. You can try shielding or stacked single coils (which are actually humbuckers), but it's really just a fact of life. Stay away from track lights, neon signs, TVs, computer monitors, etc.

My favorite is Joe Barden. I've used one in the neck of my tele for years, and it's one of my favorite pickups period. Very responsive, gorgeous tone, no noise.

Welcome. There are a lot of engineering sorts on the forum who also play guitar. I myself am a refugee from software engineering.
