I'm a South Louisiana native, raised on Rock n' Roll, Country, Cajun, Funk, and of course,
Jazz.
'Whipped Cream' was my intro to the blue note and I still love that album, especially 'A Taste of Honey'. I would be a trumpet player, but my pop couldn't afford one (boo-hoo) when it came to 5th grade band. I had to settle for drums (sticks are cheap). Hated that. Graduated to 6th grade and dropped the drums (so boring, no melody).
Got a guitar via a paper route few years later (easier to acquire than a trumpet and didn't demand lessons). Loved guitar ever since, but still feel I missed my calling with trumpet. Guitar though, I couldn't imagine my life without it. You can't make a chord on a trumpet.
Been playing for a long time, but I'm just as wide-eyed and toddling as when I first started. It's an awful/sweet journey music has been. The more I know, the more I know I don't know. And what I know is like a block of Swiss cheese - full of holes
Blah blah blah, yaddah yaddah, I'm too long in this segment and I'm up against the break. Please stay tuned if you haven't already gone to sleep or put a bullet in your head

Just kidding
