Default Just Jazz Guitar Mag

Hi all,

A little earlier this year, I subscribed to the magazine "Just Jazz Guitar" . To this date I received one mag, the next one will arrive soon . I really like the article (sorry there's no centerfold ). Very interesting and I already started to work on a chord melody "project of the month like" with Robert Conti.

Anyway, I was just curious if anybody else on the forum knew this magazine ?

Yeah I actually write reviews and articles for it, I have one on walking bass lines in this months issue and one on piano comping coming out in Augusts issue.

It's a great mag, I've read it since the beginning of my jazz days about 10 years ago. Ed Benson, the owner, is the kindest sweetest man and he is really dedicated to bringing a quality learning tool to the guitar public at a reasonable price.

If you have friends that play guitar tell them to subscribe! It's the only magazine out there that is dedicated solely to jazz guitar and hopefully it'll be around for a long time.

I totally agree with Matt (as usual). I have been taking it since 2003, and it is my favorite magazine by far. Great articles from beginner stuff thru advanced. Lots of playable tunes, lots of great guitar porn, reviews on discs, instructional stuff, etc.

Ed Benson does this as a mom and pop thing out of his house, so it does have the occassional typo and such, but for a small niche publication, I think it is outstanding and can't recommend it enough for those interested in jazz guitar. It is a quarterly, and my issue should be here any day.
