Default Hello To Everyone

I'm another newbie...Have been interested in Jazz guitar for years, but have no jazz style guitar, although I have other nice guitars to play. My goal is to not buy until I have tried a couple of ES 175s to see if that is what I really like. No one near me has one to try tho. I'll probably have to trade a couple of my other's to get one tho.
Jazz guitarists have fascinated me since my late father used to watch Lawrence Welk Show on TV and I saw one of his performers, do Moonlight in Vermont, and My Blue Heaven. I have no idea who these guys were, and I wasn't even playing guitar at that time. But I fell in love immediately with the style. I have played for many years, and feel that I learn better from good teachers, than on my own, although I dedicate my self to hard deep practices, and am steadily improving..
I live in Vidalia Ga, and am on disability from complications from degenerative arthritis and genetic blood clotting disorder, and have to use crutches to walk now.
Please share anything you wish to help speed my learning process on jazz playing.
Thanks, Hope to hear from some of you,
Paul
