Default Don't read?

Good afternoon, Ronnie, and welcome.
Don't read? I assume (I hope..!) you mean that you don't read music written on a score..? You will probably find all opinions on this subject here, but I can encourage you to not not let that stop you going as far as you wish without. Not that it's not good, or useful, but there are many ways to enjoy playing/learning through other media. 67? No problem, (I'm a 'youngster' at 60...) there are so many ways to assimilate (listening is quite a start...). There are, nevertheless, methods for learning to read, at least on a 'melody' level, or work out the chords from staves, without necessarily becoming a proficient sight reader (assuming that you're not looking to join your local philharmonic orchestra or such...).
More power to your elbow; enjoy...

Ronnie,

The cool thing about 67 is that you are like an old dog. You are totally free from the illusions of grandeur and the need to impress, self expression and all the nonsense that goes along with "looking good".

Keep at it. Don't let the reading keep you handicapped. Sometimes not knowing how to read can help you develop other muscles. Remember you may be an old dog but you can still learn new tricks.

Welcome to the forum.

FNV

Default hello fellow guitar lovers

Hi, I too have always wanted to be a guitarist, however, have never had the time to put into practicing. Retirement seems to be a great time to devote to this incredible instrument.

Hi all, Love the guitar, have been playing more contemporary over the years, but jazz recently got my attention.

Welcome from another old dog (63). It's never too late to learn something.
