Default Greetings

I'm a new forum member. Right off the bat let me say that I'm surely not in anyone here's league as a player. I'm a songwriter in Nashville but have a history rich with jazz. I performed in and wrote the lyrics for the "Friends & Love" concert with Chuck Mangione way back when. I'm friends with Steve Gadd and Tony Levin and the sorely missed Gerry Niewood and Coleman Mellett. I ran an after hours in Rochester, NY and got to meet and listen to the likes of Kenny Burrell and Pat Martino when they would drop in to jam.
All this to say I love jazz and the dedication it takes to play it. I hope you don't mind me lurking around and trying to learn a few things.
Bat McGrath

Welcome aboard Bat. Sounds like you would have some fun stories to tell. How is the drying out going in Nashville?

Thanks Derek,
It's hot!!! We're recovering from a flood and going through a drought...go figure.
Pat Martino stayed at our house for a few days and I still can't figure out when he slept. He was practicing both when we went to bed and when we woke up in the morning, and he played all day long. I guess that's what it takes to be that good.
