Newbie! Hello from central PA

Hi. I'm Mel. I've been playing guitar off and on (more off than on, sad to say) for about fifteen years, but it's just in the past few months that I've decided to take it more seriously and actually learn to play properly. Right now I'm working through Jody Fisher's "Beginning Jazz Guitar" and the first volume of Mickey Baker's "Jazz Guitar" based largely on the recommendations I've read here. This is a great site; I've been very impressed with the sheer amount of knowledge out on the forum and the helpful spirit in which it's shared. It's inspirational. Thanks!

Hi Mel, welcome to the forum. Like a few others here I can very much relate to your situation. This site helps me to keep things going. Some days I practice more some days less but in the end it's all good as long as I get to practice every day (well, most days....).
