Hi Raquel,

I know it is going to sound like I am being mean but, I am not. Do you have a guitar? If not, go get one. If you are purchasing a guitar, you can get deals at some of the large music instrument stores like Sam Ash or Guitar Center and usually the sales people are really helpful. Now that you have your guitar, get it tuned. Then play around with it. Strum it, see what happens. Try making sounds with it - see what halppens when you put your fingers on the fretboard, when do you get clear sounds, when don't you pay attention to the feel and your ears. If you pressing on strings and and all you hear are thumping sounds then you don't have clear notes sounding change until you hear clear notes. You can get yourself a beginner's guitar book and if you have a friend that plays ask him/her to show you how put your fingers on the fretboard. Don't get overwhelmed by not being successful at first. The long work will pay off for funfilled exdperiences with your guitar.

i agree, an not only because I am one, but get a teacher. At least for the first few months. That way you will get a bunch of the basics down and if the teacher is good he/she will give you enough material to keep you busy for years to come.
